Dream Big

I really enjoy being a therapist. Yes, it’s hard work, but generally very gratifying. I love getting to know my clients and their life stories. Everyone is unique and interesting and it is truly a gift to be apart of my Clients’ lives.

Many years ago I worked at a non-profit agency with adolescents who were court ordered to attend therapy because they were on juvenile probation. It was a tough crowd! Some responded better than others, of course. Years have passed and I wonder what became of some of them. Recently one of these former clients got in touch with me. It’s been 12 years since I saw him last. He sent me a picture of himself (in a suit) shaking hands with the Secretary of State (of another state where he now lives). He is working a professional job in state government and is happy and healthy. Wow! He was an amazing young man when I knew him, but what a big accomplishment for someone with so many challenges in his early life. I am so happy he took the time to let me know I was a positive influence in his life.

So, dream big. Anything is possible!
